1. The setting of the community letter box should conform to the principles of convenience, applicability, economy, and beauty, and have conditions such as moisture proof, wind proof, lightning proof, rain and snow proof, anti-theft, and lighting conditions. The overall form and appearance of the letter box should be in harmony with the overall requirements of the residence plan.
2. Stand-alone, parallel, and row-type low-rise dwellings should have single-port letter boxes at the entrance of the residence or courtyard; multi-storey dwellings should have unit letter boxes at the unit entrance; high-rise dwellings should have letter boxes at the main entrance on the ground floor Group or letter box room.
3. When there are no conditions to set up a letter box in accordance with the rules of Article 2., it is advisable to set up a letter box at the entrance and exit of the residence area where it is convenient to pick up and take or near the main passage of the residence group.
4. The number of letter boxes in the community should not be less than the number of households, and there should be a letter box for returning letters. The layout of the letter box should not only meet the needs of users, but also conform to the humanized plan.
5. The embedded wall type should be used for the placement of the letter box in the community, and it should be integrated with the building. The space (or niche) should be reserved during civil construction, and the size should be increased by 30mm according to the size of the letter box. When the wall-mounted letter box or self-standing letter box is selected, the ventilation, lighting and evacuation of the residence shall not be affected.
